This is an incredibly rare 1965 Omega Speedmaster (Pre Professional) with Reference S 105.003-64. Also known as the “Ed White” as it was the very watch he wore on his first historic space walk, and other famous Appollo astronauts like Niel Armstrong making this probably one of the most famous watches ever made! NASA tested various brands (including Rolex) and the 105 003 was the only one proved fit for space travel. This particular Speedmaster, has a manually wound 321 caliber movement (Pre-Professional) with a 40mm case, no crown guards and straight lugs, dating to September 1964 is virtually epic as it was made for a very short period of time before the arrival of the 145.012 moon. Our Ed White is with its wonderfully original faded dial and original bracelet. These pre moon examples with no crown guards or “professional” markings on the dial are extremely desirable by collectors. This watch has just come back from Swiss Tec Omega having had a full service.
